The Secret Revealed
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things
revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words
of this law.
Deuteronomy 29:29 (Spke 5, Cycle 1)
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth
what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Daniel 2:22 (Spoke 5, Cycle 2)
The Secret Things of God
The name of the fifth letter, הא (Hey) means Behold!.
The letter functions in Hebrew grammar as the sign of the definite article, the word the.
This meaning carries over into the Greek definite articles O (Ho, Masculine) and
(Hey, Feminine).
This meaning of Hey is one of the many reasons the Rabbinical tradition
which calls Hey the letter of Revelation. This is particularly
significant in
light of the sevenfold symmetric division of the
Canon Wheel
into sections of 5, 12, and 22 books since these three
numbers are each pentangular. This manifests in the ultimate sense
in the Number 22 which governs the overall structure of
Scripture, from the twenty-two Spokes of the Wheel to the twenty-two
chapters of the Book of Revelation.
This then integrates with distribution of the phrase ("secret things") [Verify] on the
the Bible Wheel, which is found only in the two verses quoted above.
We have therefore this Spoke 5 KeyLink:
| KeyLink: The Secret Things of God | DeuteronomyDaniel |
This theme manifests also on the Inner Wheel of Revelation, with Jesus Christ
declared worthy to open the book sealed with seven seals in
Revelation 5.
We also see this Spoke 5 KeyTheme of Revelation prominently
manifested in Ephesians on Spoke 5:
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and
love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of
you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is
the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in
the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward
who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought
in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand
in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might,
and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but
also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave
him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the
fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Ephesians 1:15ff (Spoke 5, Cycle 3)
And again, in Ephesians 3.1f:
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you
Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which
is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the
mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may
understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was
not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy
apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs,
and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God
given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Ephesians 3:1ff (Spoke 5, Cycle 3)
Note the correlated Spoke 5 themes of revelation and the
mighty power of God.
The Secret Revealed
Yet this is but the beginning of the God's wonder! The larger
context of Daniel 2.22 reveals the incredible divine integration of all three books that
constitute Spoke 5. King Nebuchadnezzar had such a disturbing dream that he demanded the
"wise men" be put to death if they failed to discover both the dream and its interpretation,
which was clearly impossible. We pick up the story at Daniel 2.18:
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire
mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and
his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed
the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for
ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and
the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto
the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the
deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the
light dwelleth with him. I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of
my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto
me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.
This passage links to both Deuteronomy and Ephesians. Searching the entire KJV for all verses
containing the set (secret, revealed) [Verify] yields exactly
three verses: Deuteronomy 29.29 and two from Daniel. We have another KeyLink:
| KeyLink: The Secret Revealed | DeuteronomyDaniel |
This link exists in all seven versions, but it is a KeyLink only in the KJV because of
translational variations. It is a very strong thematic link, but not a very strong KeyLink
in the sense that if we expand the search to include all words beginning with reveal, i.e. the
set (secret, reveal*) [Verify] then we pick up
one off-spoke verse from Amos 3.7: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth
his secret unto his servants the prophets." But it is significant that this expanded search,
while not yields a KeyLink, actually strengthens the thematic link between Deuteronomy 29.29 and Daniel
by picking up an additional two verses from Daniel. Here are all the verses selected with this search
string:
Revelation of Secrets (Search Set: (secret, reveal*) [Verify]) |
- Deuternomy 29.29: The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
- Daniel 2.19: Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
- Daniel 2.22: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
- Daniel 2.30: But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
- Daniel 2.47: The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
- Amos 3.7: Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Note that five out of six hits (83%) are found on Spoke 5, which is consistent with the great theme
of revelation that originates on the meaning of the Fifth Letter Hey (Behold!).
Though KeyLinks are very striking illustrations of dominant themes on
given Spokes, they are not necessary to prove thematic correlation between the books. The fact that God used
similar language in other parts of the Bible in no way invalidates the reality of the strong theme uniting
Deuteronomy, Daniel, and Ephesians.
Knowing the Revelation
Another strong link between Daniel and Ephesians is found by searching for all verses containing the words
revealed and know* within one verse of understand*.
This results in two passages; one beginning at Daniel 2.20 and the other at Ephesians 3.3:
Daniel 2.20f | Ephesians 3.3f |
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision.
Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God
for ever and
ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he
removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and
knowledge to
them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things:
he knoweth
what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. I thank thee, and praise thee,
O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto
me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. |
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Which in other
ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his
holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the
same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister,
according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach
among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the
fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,
who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and
powers in heavenly places might be known by the church
the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he
purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: |
Note the common themes between these geometrically correlated passages, which includes such ideas as
revelation, secret, mystery, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, power and might. This is a very strong
thematic integration.
Knowing the God of Heaven
Finally, another KeyLink between Deuteronomy and Daniel is found by searching for all verses containing
the simple set ("God in heaven", know*) [Verify] which selects only the following two verses:
Deuteronomy 4:39 | Daniel 2:28 |
Search String: "God in heaven" and know* |
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he
is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. |
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to
the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and
the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; |
