Spoke 5

Matthew 5 chain Deuteronomy

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5.1f

The first blessing occured on the Fifth Day of Creation when "God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. This coheres with the Fifth Commandment, which Paul declared to be "the first commandment with promise." This unique reference to the Fifth Commandment is found in Ephesians (vs. 6.2), which resides on Cycle 3 of Spoke 5. All of this inegrates with Matthew 5 and Deuteronomy, Book 5. It is in these two books that we find the greatest concentration of the word blessed in all the Holy Bible:

The Blessing of God

Matthew 5

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Book 5: Deuteronomy

All these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and
Blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and
Blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

Consider what this means! The full integration of the structure of the Canon, the Ten Commandments and the Hebrew Alphabet! Halellujah! Praise to our God Who has given us His Holy Word and Blessing!

On a more sober note - the Blessings in Deuteronomy came with a corresponding set of Curses that would fall on them if they were unfaithful. This corresponds to the great density of woes (Heh KeyWord Hovei) found in Isaiah 5.
