Isaiah 66 Revelation
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire,
and with his chariots like a whirlwind,
to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Isaiah 66
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is
poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire
and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who
worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Book 66 (Revelation 14.10f)
The links between the chapter structure of Isaiah and the order of the Books of the Bible finds
its completion here in the many links between Isaiah 66 and the Book of Revelation. The links are dense,
obvious, and detailed. I begin with the Lord's declaration above, and continue for a few verses to get the
big picture of the prophecy given in Isaiah 66:
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire,
and with his chariots like a whirlwind,
to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
For by fire and by his sword
will the LORD plead with all flesh: and
the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify
themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating
swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together,
saith the LORD.
For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather
all nations and
tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
Compare this with these words from the Book of Revelation (vss. 19.12f):
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat
upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many
crowns; and he had a name
written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed
him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a
sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:
and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he hath
on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw
an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that
fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together
unto the supper of the great
God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the
flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty
men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the
flesh of all men,
both free and bond, both small and great.
Here is a table of the most obviously correlated concepts. Note there are five major
corrletations just betweent these two small portions of Scriture. There are many more
correlations from other portions of Revelation discussed elsewhere:

There are many other profound links between Isaiah 66 and Revelation. Both mention a voice coming
from the Temple, and both speak of God pouring out His Wrath - very apocalyptic!:
Voice from the Temple |
Isaiah 66 (vs. 6f) | Book 66 |
A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that
rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her
pain came, she was delivered of a man child. |
[vs. 16.1]And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels,
Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. |
Similar words also appear in Revelation 16.17, which reiterate the them of completion and consummation:
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice
out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Continuing to the next verse in Isaiah 66 (vs. 7) we read:
Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her
pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth
in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth
her children.
This links directly to Revelation (vs. 12.1f):
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon
under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried,
travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
And there appeared another wonder in heaven;
and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and
the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child
as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule
all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
There are many words in common, some of which are unique to these linked passages. For example,
the set ("brought forth", "man child") forms a KeyLink
between the Inner Wheel of Isaiah and the Bible Wheel:

This is, of course, just the barest outline. I must again move on - the task is so large! There are
so many wonders to document.
