Spoke 21

Isaiah 43 – The Gospel of John

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

Book 43 (John 10.2f)

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 43 (vs. 1)

The divine integration of Isaiah 43 with the Gospel of John is based on the fundamental Spoke 21 KeyWord pic (Shem, Name). This is seen with particular clarity in the joint maximization of the distribution of God's memorial name I AM ( = 21) in these two linked passages, as discussed in The Eternal I AM.

Isaiah 43 reiterates the theme of God calling his own by name in verses 6 and 7:

I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

This theme also forms a KeyLink within the Inner Wheel of Isaiah. Searching the entire book of Isaiah (KJV) for all verses containing the phrase "called by my name" yields exactly two verses; the one quoted above, and this from Isaiah 65.1:

I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

This phrase is found in other books of the Bible, most notably seven times in Jeremiah on Spoke 2 which integrates with the first occurrence of "name" in Genesis 2 and the Hebrew name of Exodus pic (Shemuth, Names), and ultimately with the Spoke 2 concept of the Word and the nature of the Second Person of the Godhead. This means that it is not a KeyLink in the Bible Wheel, but it is a KeyLink when we confine our attention to the Book of Isaiah as an image of the Bible within the Bible. We have, therefore, this Spoke 21 Inner Wheel KeyLink between Isaiah 43 and Isaiah 65:
