Spoke 4

Isaiah 48

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

Isaiah 48.1f

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Psalm 48.1f

The theme of the foursquare Holy City housing the foursquare Temple of God is dominant on Spoke 4 of the Bible Wheel and Inner Wheels and Cycles. (cf. Cross in the Wilderness, Foursquare Temple) This is, of course, entirely logical since buildings are naturally foursquare. But the integration of the numerical content of Scripture with its geometric structure in the form of the Wheel is beyond all logical explanation. Simply stated, there are no other possiblities - we are beholding an everlasting blazing miracle available for any who has eyes to see. Yet this is but one of the ten thousand proofs revealed in the Bible Wheel!

The highlighted words (Lord, God, City, Holy/Holiness) form a KeySet between Isaiah 48 and Psalm 48:

Below is an outline of the themes I will develop as I get more time.

Neck like Iron, Brow like Brass

3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. 4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass; 5 I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

This links directly to the call of Ezekiel (vss. 3.7f):

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted. Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

For My Name's Sake

9 For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. 10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. 11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

This integrates with the great theme of Spoke 4, which manifetst with perfect clarity in Ezekiel (vs. 39.7):

So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

Of course, this links to the value of the phrase "My Holy Name" which coincides with the value of Yehoshua HaMeshiah (Jesus Christ, GR 754) as discussed at length in the Divine Chariot article.

Peace like a River

18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: 19 Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

This links with the great theme of Rest and Peace that originates in the Fourth Commandment (Sabbath Rest). Cf. Psalm 4 and Perfect Peace. It appears also in the last verse of this chapter:

22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
