Spoke 11
I Kings, Micah, II Timothy
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of
the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and
devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be
killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their
prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth
with all plagues, as often as they will.
Revelation 11.2f
The Two Witnesses
The Prophet Elijah first appears in the 11th Book,
I Kings. This
integrates with the chapter sequence of
Matthew,
Romans,
and Revelation (cf. Matthew 11 and Romans 11). The powers granted to the Two Witnesses are
associated with the prophets Moses and Elijah. Moses had the power to turn water into blood
(Exodus 4.9) and
Elijah had the power to call down fire from heaven and to shut up the heavens so it
would not rain (I Kings 17). The first appearance of these prophets is related through the
reduced value of the book numbers in which they
appeared: Exodus (Book 2) and I Kings (Book 11):
11 ==> 1 + 1 ==> 2
A similiar link is seen between Exodus (Spoke 2) and Micah (Spoke 11) as discussed
briefly in the documentation of the integration of Exodus with
Isaiah 2. We also a very strong thematic link to I Kings
based on the idea of Two Witnesses. In the story of Ahab and Naboth
Jezebel schemes to destroy Naboth by setting up two false witnesses. The link is based on the
set (Two, Witness*, They) [Verify] which selects three verses, I Kings 21.13, Revelation 11.3 and
Matthew 26.60.
I Kings (vs. 21.13) |
Revelation 11 (vs. 3) |
---|
And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the
men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the
people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth
out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. |
nd I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two
hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. |
It is a near KeyLink, which reveals a strong thematic correlation.

7000 and an Earthquake
The mention of 7000 and an earthquake links back to I Kings (this is strongly linked to the content
of Romans 11:
I Kings (vss. 4f) |
Revelation 11 (vs. 13) |
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the
fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his
face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there
came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been
very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant,
thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only,
am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. And the LORD said unto him, Go,
return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be
king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha
the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And it
shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth
from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel,
all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. |
And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell,
and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the
remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. And the seventh angel sounded;
and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the
kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four
and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou
hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry,
and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest
give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name,
small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God
was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there
were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. |
These are the only verses in all the Bible that mentions the Number 7000 near an earthquake.
