Spoke 6
Joshua, Hosea, Philippians
The name of the Sixth Letter (Vav) means a Nail or Hook. It appears
thirteen times in Exodus in the description of the Tabernacle, translated as "hook". This
seamlessly integrates with the
grammar of the Hebrew language where Vav functions as the copulative, the Hebrew form of
and when prefixed to a word. Vav "hooks" the words together.
We see this meaning of Vav used by Leah when she gave birth to Levi (Genesis 29.33):
And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be
joined unto me, because I have born him three sons:
therefore was his name called Levi.
The name (Levi) is easily analysed in terms of the
symbolic meaning of its primary letters as:
Levi = Lamed (To/For) and Vav (Connection)
The meaning of Levi's name as given in the text of Scripture
integrates perfectly with the
symbolic meaning of the letters comprising it! It is the profoundly integrated with
the function of the Levitical Priesthood. This is the
divine Wisdom of the Hebrew language and the Biblical revelation.
Levi's name also informs us as to the function of the priesthood known by his name. The
primary function of the Levitical Priesthood is given in
which was designed
dby God as an intercessory of which he is the Patriarch.
And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names
of the children of Israel: Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names
of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth. With the work of an engraver
in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the
names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold. And
thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial
unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD
upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
This meaning of Vav also integrates with the broader sense of the Number 6, which is the Number
of Man and Cosmos.
