Spoke 12
The Preserved Word
LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the
earth, and it abideth
First two Lamed Verses of Psalm 119
The words of the LORD are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth,
purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation
for ever.
Psalm 12 (Spoke 12, Cycle 1)
Psalm 12 is the classic verse promising that God will preserve His Holy Word. This integrates perfectly with
the meaning God revealed in the first Lamed verse of the great alphabetic Psalm 119, where he gave us
the Lamed KeyWord (L'Olam, For ever).
The number twelve relates to the Word in many
ways. Lamed is the Teaching letter. The Word is the Bread from Heaven
(Written Word the type of the Living Word) typified by the multiplied loaves began as 5 and remaining 12 which yield the
primary structural numbers of the Bible: 5 books in the Torah, Wisdom, Major Prophets, and NT History, and 12 books in the
OT History and Minor Prophets (see Sevenfold Canon for a full review).
