Bet Alphabetic Verses

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

AV Psalm 25.2

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

BETH. Wherewithal [Lit. With what] shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

The grammatical function of the Second Letter shines with extreme clarity through in the Alphabetic Verses. It is displayed in 13 of the 21 such verses, including seven of the eight found in Psalm 119. This reveals the elemental power of the letter. When prefixed to a word, Bet signifies the proposition in, with, or by. The fundamental idea coheres with the meaning of its name, House, since a House is the natural archetypal image of a place to go in. This is an example of the self-reflective coherence of the Hebrew language. Words (Houses) are built from Stones (Letters) in such a way that the meaning of the Word derives from the combined meaning of the individual letters!

This then all integrates with the the nature of the Godhead in numerous ways. The Lord Jesus Christ is the dwelling place or house of Almighty God, "for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2.9) He is the House of God which integrates with the Logos through the common value of 443 as explained in detail in the Gematria Reference Number 443 and the article explaining the Logos Holograph which is indexed with the value of Bet (412). All of this is an overwhelming witness to the nature of the Godhead and the reality of God the Son whose name is called the Word of God, out of whose mouth comes a sharp two-edged Sword - the Symbol of the both Division and the Word of God! Of course, all of this then integrates with the objective nature of Language which is built upon the fundamental duality of the sign and the thing signified. (Cf. Is Christ Divided?) Endless wonder!

Another fundamental Bet KeyWord is בן (Ben, Son). This integrates with the nature of the Eternal Godhead, the Second Person being God the Son:

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

AV Lamentations 4.2

The word Ben (Son) sets the tone for many of the fundamental themes of Spoke 2 (cf. Out of Egypt I have Called My Son, Inner Cycles > Matthew 2, Inner Cycles > Psalm 2). This is the essence of the alphabetic story - the Father (Av) loves the Son (Ben) through whom God built the World, as it is written - Christ as a son over his own house. The word Ben (Son) is from the root בנה (banah, to build), through the idea of the son building the House (posterity) of the Father. God used this KeyWord in Lamentations 3.5:

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

It is through the Son that the Father has blessed ברך (barak) the whole world. This Bet KeyWord is found in Psalm 119.12:

Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

And how do we recieve this blessing of God? By trusting in Him! As it is written:

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

AV Psalm 37.3

Note that the KeyWord בטח (betach, trust) is followed by the object of the trust which is prefixed by the Bet, so in reality we have a pair of Bet KeyWords. We must Betach B'YHVH, that is, Trust IN the Lord.

The same pattern is used in the alphabetic sequence at the end of Proverbs:

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
