Spoke 12
Romans 12 Titus
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12 (vs. 1)
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:4 (Spoke 12, Cycle 3)
The word translated as "renewing" in both these verses is from the Greek
(Anakainosis, S# G0342). This is a KeyLink in both the Greek and the English, that is,
the Greek "anakainosis" and the english ("renewing") [Verify] appear only in Romans 12 and Titus.
We have the KeyLink:

Using modular notation to write 56 = 123, (i.e. Spoke 12, Cycle 3), we can display the
connection between Romans 12 and Spoke 12 of the Bible Wheel:

Exactly the same phenomenon, where we have a Greek/KJV KeyLink pair, is seen below in the word soberly.
Theme: Teach and Exhort!
The great theme of Spoke 12 is based upon the literal meaning of Lamed as
Teaching and Learning which
manifests with perfect clarity in the little book of Titus (see
Teach and Exhort!). These words "teach" and "exhort"
appear together in both Romans 12 and Titus:
Romans 12 (vss. 3f) |
Titus (vss. 2.1f) |
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many
members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy,
let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on
our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth,
let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy,
with cheerfulness.
|
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be
sober,
grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they
be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers
of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their
husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient
to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
|
The exhortation to be "think soberly" and to be "sober minded" is particularly astounding. It is a primary
theme of Spoke 12 that naturally integrates with the theme of Teaching and Learning. The word translated
as "soberly" Romans is from the root "Sophroneo" (S# G4993) which is closely related to
"Sophronos"
S# G4996 which God used in Titus. Theses are two examples of six cognates variously
translated as sound mind, sober, and self-controlled, listed consecutively in Strongs' Concordance
between S# G4993 and S# G4998. The distribution of these six words
is significantly maximized on Spoke 12:
Ye this is but the beginning! The one and only appearance of any of these cognates in Romans is found
in Romans 12, which then forms a
KJV KeyLink with Titus based on the simple
word (soberly) [Verify] which appears only in these two geometrically linked verses:
Romans 12 (vs. 3) |
Titus (vss. 2.11f) |
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
|
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to
all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world;

The mystery of God's glorious Word deepens ever more, extending down to the exact Greek word
(Sophronein, the present active infinitive of Sophreneo,
S# G4993), which appears only in Romans 12.3 and Titus 2.6:
Romans 12 (vs. 3) |
Titus (vss. 2.6f) |
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
|
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity,
sincerity,

Note that this is just like the double Greek/KJV KeyLink based on the pair anakainosis/renew discussed
above at the head of this page! All of this just - (except the renew KeyLink which I discovered on 3/3/03)
- just fell out before my eyes this morning in less than an hour. Events like this, which happen
nearly every time I open the Bible, bear an extremely strong witness to the truth and fruitfulness of
the Bible Wheel.
