And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Daniel 9.26

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

Ezekiel 37.26

The Covenant of Peace is found in the death (cutting off) of the Messiah. When God said "I will make a covnenant of peace" he used the standard word yikrat which literally means to cut off (S# H3772). Exactly the same word was used in the prophecy of the death of the Messiah Jesus in Daniel 9.26.

The Number 988 relates to the Grace Manifest Holograph through the meaning of the Number 38 (His Glory) and the fundamental biblical teaching that the Lord Jesus Christ had to be crucified before he could be glorified. This is encoded in the identity:

Messiah shall be cut off = 988 = 26 (YHVH) x 38 (His Glory)

The Glory of God (YHVH) was revealed through the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus (cf. John 17). These factors can be rearranged to express the idea of Manifestation (19) of the Son (52):

Covnenant of Peace = 988 = 19 (Manifestation) x 52 (Son)

Recall the deep integration of the Number 19 and the ideas of Physical Manifestation, Flesh = Lamb (361 = 19 x 19), and The Body of Jesus = 2869 = 19 x 151.
