[GR] > The Number 149 - King of Nations |
With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel
king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.
Genesis 14.9
Here we see the numeric value of King of Nations coinciding with the chapter and verse value of the verse in
which it first appears. Yet there is more. The same phrase, in the plural, first appears in
Isaiah 14.9:
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead
for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones
all the kings of the nations.
This is one of the many correlated debuts linking Genesis
and Isaiah.
