Cursed Deception

But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

Malachi 1:14ff (Spoke 17, Cycle 2)

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

2 Peter 2:12ff (Spoke 17, Cycle 3)

These verses are linked with a double KeyLink. They are selected from the KJV when either the set (cursed within one verse of deceive*) or (cursed within two verses of corrupt*) is used. I label this KeyLink with the mnemonic Cursed Corrupt Deception:

Malachichain2 Peter

The common theme of falst teachers should be quite evident after a quick read through the first two chapters of Malachi and 2 Peter. In particular, we see the specific denunciation of leading people astray and causing them to stumble in the Law:

Malachi 2 2 Peter 2
My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

[Note: These verses refer to Peh twice, and the phase partial in the law which is actually the translation of the Hebrew Panim B'Torah! Note also that this passage reflects the name of the Book, the word messenger being Malekh, the root of Malachi.]
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Oh! The Wonders of God's Word. In Malachi, God specifically refers twice to the literal meaning of Peh as mouth. He speaks of when the priests were faithful, and successfully turned many away from iniquity. But when they fell away, they casused many to stumble at the law. Likewise in 2 Peter, the Lord speaks of the false teachers causing the way of truth to be spoken evil of.

Malachi speaks of the Law of Truth and 2 Peter speaks of the Way of Truth and the Way of Righteousness. Both speak of corruption and causing people to fall from the Way. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of KeyLinks here, but I don't have enough time to research them right now. In any case, we have an extremely obvious thematic correlation:

Thematic Link: False Teachers Cause Many To Stumble
Malachi 2chain2 Peter 2

Note that the correlation also involves the chapter numbers, exactly as we saw in the Parousia: The Promise of His Coming. It would be an excellent exercise to study the common vocabulary of these two geometrically integrated passages. BUt I must leave that as an exercise for the reader for now. There's so much to do! I've spent the last two weeks typing as fast as I can, working 14 hour days just to scratch outline of what the Lord has done on Spoke 17 - I've seen so much here I could write many books. But that's just for one Spoke! I need to move on to the others now.
