Hello,
I have a question and would be appreciative of any help.
I am reading on koshertorah.com a library article on dreams and came to information on Shema Yisrael nighttime prayers. I looked up the verses for the childrens prayer given...Deut 6:4-9, Deut 11:13-21, and Num 15:37-41.
Deut 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deut 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
I remember years ago coming across a teaching on the hand signs formed during laying on of hands but do not know where to find further information. But in reading these verses I am wondering if this is a part of that reference.
I believe the hand symbol was a symbol for a name for G-d and the hand was placed on the forehead.
So if you know anything about hand languages (specifically Hebrew) and have time to drop me a link that would be most kind. I would also be most appreciative for some clarification on the "frontlets between your eyes."
lots of love
K
