Happy Independence Day to all my forum friends!

Remembering the words from our great Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"

Remembering the words from our great Declaration of Independence:

It is interesting that the Declaration of Independence, is based on God-given rights. How was that determined? Does that not indicate the teaching that comes from understanding God's word.
We have an example of where God made a provision for captives to be set free. Once again, it is man who is at fault. Man is typically rebelling against God's word. It is man who inflicts on other people, things which deny them their God-given rights.
As an example of man's guilt in this respect, we read the following (Jeremiah 34:16); But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids. 17 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour:

What it does indicate is that the Bible has enough diversity that just about anything imaginable can be interpreted from it, like equal human rights for all people. I am just glad that some of the founding fathers of this country felt that all people were created equal, even though at the time slavery was legal and women were denied many rights that men had ... like voting. :thumbsdown:

Absolutely! Man is at fault all the way around, because man is the creator of god. :p All the good deeds that are done, and all the bad deeds that are done can be laid solely at the feet of humans.
