This post is intended for post trib, non democrat believers to get a kick out of. If this does not describe you than just ignore all of it and let us have some fun. Thanks.

Similarities between Barak Obama and the Pre-trib Rapture

1. They both are young, inexperienced and insufficiently qualified for the position they want to be put in. The Rapture teaching is less than 200 years old. Obama has way too little experience in politics.

2. They both look good and say things that tickle the ears. The rapture teaching has all good points for its followers and no bad ones. Obama offers fantastic change for the better with no chance of failure.

3. They both are associated with the coming of a Messiah. The rapture promises that Jesus will rescue Christians from the terrible times to come. Obama is affectionately called 'Messiah' by some of his followers who believe that he will rescue his followers from Republicans, Bush, racist rednecks 'clinging to their guns and religion,' poverty, war and high health care payments.

4. They both promise to make a lot of right wing conservatives to disappear. The rapture promises to take Christians away, many of whom are right wing conservatives. Obama promises to radically revolutionize our government, laws, policies and courts so much that it will take generations before many of the right wing conservatives, who are Christians, will pose any threat to his followers again.

5. They both make a lot of money through speeches about unfounded fantasies. The rapture teaches a lot of made up fluff, supposedly coming from the Bible, which 'catches away' millions of dollars in prophets from books, audio and video recordings, movies and church donations. Barak Obama does the exact same thing with his political platform.

6. They both promise prosperity if you follow them. The rapture teaching is very often taught hand in hand with the health-and-wealth prosperity gospel heresy. Obama promises free everything for everyone in all '57' of the United States as well as in Mexico- and free care and research for everyone who may have AIDS anywhere in the world. Of course, it is not the citizen’s job to worry about who pays for all this. Barak’s Socialism has it all planned out.

7. They both promise to save their followers from the antichrist. The rapture teaches that Christians will be taken to heaven for a party before the antichrist comes. Obama claims to be the savior from the Satanic George Bush and his antichrist 'son' McCain, whom he also calls 'Bush.'

8. They both are painfully uninformed about history. The rapture teaching does take into account the fact that history is filled with contradictions to its promises. All the false prophets, countless seasons of mass martyrdom, the Nazi holocaust, the plethora of wars, the continual barrage of tyrants committing genocide, cataclysmic disasters, famines, plagues and economic upheaval and disaster that this world has been deluged with consistently for millennia testify that the rapture has not rescued anyone from these type of things. Obama has not learned from history that Socialism is thievery, appeasement or negotiations with despots is suicide, the Republican Party is not a bunch of 'typical white' people 'clinging to their guns and religion,' and inciting and venomous rhetoric like that which come from his pastors leads to rebellion and bloody revolution akin to Communist ones of the past. Cambodia is a perfect case in point.

9. They both promise to solve all the problems in the Middle East. The rapture promises that, after the rapture, it will be only seven years until Jesus comes and fixes everything over there. Obama says that he will negotiate with Hamas and other terrorist regimes and bring peace to the Middle East.

10. They both have names that indicate fast change. The word 'rapture' indicates an instantaneous transport of a party in heaven. 'Barak' is Hebrew for 'lightning.' Although his name is not from the Hebrew, he promises lightning fast 'change we can believe in.'

11. They are both going to prove to be wrong. But by then it will be too late for their followers.

I could try to think of more but I thought I would let others people add some points here.

Thanks Richard,

I can add one more:

They both have seasoned veterans opposing them.

Both collapse miserably when confronted with a sensible, logical, unemotional, presentation of the truth.

Both are propped up by an almost unanimous, biased mouthpiece (the liberal media for OB and practically all evangelical churches today for the pre-trib rapture).
