:yo: Note that Samuel's lifetime divided the period between the Judges and the Kings -- note also that his name is UNIQUE -- for some strange or perverse reason none of the New Testament children were given the notable names of Adam, Noah, Job, Samuel, Ruth, etc. The repetitive names, like James or Joseph, stand in contrast to this curious feature of Scripture.

Just as Jesus is the Lamb of God and Son of God, as well as the personification and exemplification of Truth, Life, the Word, the Seed, etc., so Samuel is the personification and representation of the Holy Ghost. It's an Old Testament representation of a New Testament reality! In the notable 'Witch of Endor' case, it is Samuel who becomes "ghostlike" by being called up from the dead; making the case for this other name for the Holy Spirit.

Double Prophecies?
:prof: Joseph told the Pharaoh that his two dreams were ONE, and meant there would be 7 yrs. of plenty, followed by 7 yrs. of famine. (Similar to the 7 years of Leah and 7 years of Rachel) But now with hindsight we reckon the first 7 yrs. to be the 2K yrs of the Old Covenant, followed by the 2K of the New Covenant.

We didn't know then that Jesus would be the "True Bread" of John 6, but now we see how He is figuratively the Word of God that was stored (custodians the Jews), and now we feed on that Word that they 'saw' (literally), but we get by 'hearing and hearing'. :thumb:
