Different churches, denominations and believers have various interpretations and teachings for the Biblical faith. Among those comprehensions are healthy and wrong teachings.
I try to handle this teaching primarily in the light of the Bible. The purpose is to study that what the Bible teaches for the faith in accordance with the Bible. In this teaching, I also study that in a what way the faith appears in the Bible. The purpose is not grubbed wrong teachings, but examine the Biblical faith.
It is obvious that when we study the Biblical faith, so we understand how distorting faith leads harmful consequences. Test my teaching in the light of the Bible by the prayer. My teaching is not all-inclusive for this topic, but it works as the signpost that you personally begin profoundly to study the Bible and search the will of God.

Defining Faith.. Like you say, Petri, a large subject..
In the Old Testament, the word "Faith" is found only twice. The first place is by Moses in Deut 32:20 when he speaks of the Children in whom was "no faith". That was apparently in reference to those who had turned to new gods, to strange gods, instead of the Rock of Ages. Like today, when the leaders of this nation no longer recognize the God of the Bible, but are accepting any old god who submits the proper paperwork or gets past customs with their dumb(stupid) idols.
The second place the word 'faith' occurs is in Habakkuk 2. The Lord says: "write the vision and make it plain...that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry...but the just shall live by his faith".
A curious aspect of the phrase "the just shall live by faith" is how we find it repeated in three (3) books of the New Testament, and those same three books are used to 'DEFINE' faith. They aren't all on the same spoke, obviously, but does this fit some kind of pattern?
Romans 1:17 "The just shall live by faith".
Galatians 3:11 "The just shall live by faith".
Hebrews 10:38 "The just shall live by faith".
Just these three (3) books where Faith is defined, and no others! :thumb:
Romans 10:17 "..Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". (Not by reading the opinions of mortal men.)
Galatians 5:6 "..Faith works by love". (Without love, faith doesn't work!).
Hebrews 11:1 "NOW Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So Faith is NOW? As opposed to 'future', or to what? :yo:

MOUNTAINS of Faith..
Are MOUNTAINS just for climbing?
The Mountain of Blessing (Gerizim) and the Mountain of Curses (Ebal) were where the sons of Jacob were required to SPEAK with a loud voice. Deut 11:26 and 27:12. Yes, they spoke the curses and the blessings of Deut28 right out loud! It's an Old Testament precept which leads us to the New Testament truth spoken by Jesus: "...say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, it shall be done". Mk11:23, Mt21:21.
Gerizim and Ebal are a precept and parallel to (blessed) Mount Zion and (cursed) Mount Seir.
"But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions". Obad1:17
"Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate". Ezek35:3.
There's a difference between actual, literal, physical mountains, and poetic or figurative ones. Don't allow molehills to become mountains in your life, whether it be smoking or over-eating, or temper tantrums, or whatever: those are the mountains of curses in our life. On the other hand, strive to be an achiever and accept the challenges of life as exemplified by David going up against Goliath, or Caleb saying "Give me the mountain".Josh14:12. The race isn't a 50 yd. dash, but instead a marathon with hurdles, and maybe uphill too..?? :winking0071:

A very important goal of Biblical faith is that the will of God becomes real in the life of the disciples of the Lord Jesus. A ministry should be given by God (it should not be man-made). Biblical gifts and anointment must function by the power of the Holy Spirit (they should not be man-made or caused by evil spirits). When you understand in practice what the Bible teaches, the faith in your heart will adhere to the Bible. You will learn to love God and your neighbours and to support the preaching of the Gospel in a position that God has planned for you. All that is the consequence of the faith when you to live in practice in accordance with the will of God.
1 Tim 2:
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Hebr 13:
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The Lord Jesus (Messiah) is the focal point *of the Gospel and Biblical faith. Biblical faith is always about the fulfilment of God's will. Believers should believe in the Lord Jesus and the Father God as the Bible says (the will of God). The real and right will of God is found in the Bible.
The will of God can happen in your life. It can come true through Bible teaching and the power of the Holy Spirit when you believe in God and are obedient to Him. For the sake of Jesus' atonement on the cross, God is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good will so that you can follow the will of God in your life. The atonement by the Lord Jesus is the focal point of everything, and the will of God shall will come true in the lives of everyone who are obedient in faith to God.
Matt 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Joh 7:
38 whoever believeth in me, as the scriptures have said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters.
39 (this he said of the spirit, which they who believe in him were to receive: for the spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
The Lord Jesus said that people get lost and err if they do not know the will of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Believers can only know and understand the will of God when they believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says.
When you believe in the Bible as it is written, you will learn to understand how the Holy Spirit works. The Bible teaches us how the Holy Spirit works and the Holy Spirit works as it is written in the Bible.
Many people say that the Bible does not tell and teach everything to us. Therefore, we must find the whole truth from good religious books and teachings by believers so that we can understand what the Bible does not say. This idea is non-Biblical and incorrect.
Of course, you can read good Biblical books, but you have to test and discern their message by the Word of God (the Bible). I am sure that God wants you to read Bible more frequently than good Biblical books because only the Bible contains the perfect truth.
2 Pet 1:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The Bible especially advises and orders us to believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says. The Bible also teaches that God has given us all things concerning to life and godliness. Everything that God has given to us concerning the life of faith we have by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God (Bible).
Fulfilment of God's will cannot fully come true in our life if we do not believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says. When you believe in the Lord as the *Bible says, you will start doing what the Word says and will not only listen to the Word. This means that God works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. For this reason, you can make work of faith by the power and effect of God according to how faith has increased and grown in you by the grace of God.
The Fulfilment of God's will in our life takes place by the growth of faith because we cannot receive more until we have grown by the grace of God.
Hebr 12:
1 ¶ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 ¶ Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
The Bible teaches that sin can easily beset us. The life of faith is a process of growth *and particularly in the beginning, believers have not learned *to discern good and evil things. Therefore, they can easily get deceived and for this reason, it is very important that believers have a fellowship with the congregation which is based on God's love and truth or is connected to other believers who love the Lord in truth. Sisters and brothers in the Lord Jesus who have been saved for a longer time help young believers be rooted and built up in the Lord Jesus.
Believers who have been saved for a long time and all believers can be easily *deceived if they do not believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says. Therefore, they can receive wrong teachings and manifestations of evil spirits and live by the flesh according to sinful things if they do not believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says.
In the Bible, it is not written in vain that sin can easily beset believers. We have to take this teaching very seriously because if we do not believe in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says, we shall be deceived away from the will of God and from believing in Him.
The eyes, hearts, minds and thoughts of believers must be attached to the Lord Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. In this context, the Bible refers to Jesus' death on the cross. When the focal point* of your life of faith is the Messiah, the Lord Jesus and His blood, death and resurrection for the remission of sins, your life is centered on Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, believing in the Lord Jesus as the Bible says. It is very difficult to deceive you because the focus of your life of the faith is in the right place. In that way, God can grow you to be rooted in the Lord Jesus.
I have noticed that among many believers, there *is confusion and conflicts because they have not internalized the grace of God and the atonement of the Lord Jesus. Therefore, they are very responsive to deceptions and non-Biblical doctrines. They do not have the assurance of salvation in their hearts and have not learned to understand the grace of God. Therefore, they do not know how the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of believers.
Those who are uncertain about their salvation and do not know how God works in their hearts and what the truth of the Bible is, run after all kinds of deceitful doctrines and strange manifestations. The deceivers promise rapid results: that you can very quickly achieve the power of "a specially anointed super believer."
When the foundation of faith is not working as it should, believers are very responsive to accept wrong doctrines, which promise the power of God, gifts, success and prosperity. It is unfortunate that there are lots of these kinds of deceivers. If you believe in deceivers, the will of God cannot happen in your life. In many cases, the victims of deceivers get painful wounds in their heart, and recovering from them may take a long time.
It is very important to understand the value of the Lord Jesus' atonement and what the Bible teaches and how the Holy Spirit works in your heart. If you understand this, you have a very good starting point to grow in faith and learn to know the will of God. In this way, it is possible to see how the will of God comes true in your life.
