:huhsign: What kind of Body?
Heb 10:5 "Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me":
Rom8:3 "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh":
Phil 2:6 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men":
Joseph's coat-of-many-colors was a precept of how Jesus came in a "body prepared", in a garment (vesture) dipped in blood, as a saviour to all races and colors of mankind.
As Jacob wore the Esau disguise, so Jesus came looking like mankind. :yo:

If Jesus had come as an extra terrestrial, the likes of which has never been seen on the earth, then we would be totally confused and confounded.
Man is unique (we have no evidence for any other creation in the universe). The purpose of God is with man, for whom God has created the environment on this planet, which is also unique.
The purpose of God is to fill the earth with his glory and that glory is shown in the things which God has created and man can only show the full glory of God, when man is perfected. Jesus it the first man to be perfected, and many sons (of God), men and women, will be brought to glory when they are resurrected to eternal life.

Really, David, Your first sentence reads pretty much the way He DID come.. However, I was referring to the play on words between the spiritual body (the Church), and his physical body. Then, besides that, how his appearance is hidden by having him identified "with a kiss", or maybe 'like Thomas'..
In modern times, it compares to the vehicles people drive; whether cars, trucks, tanks, etc. Like our Spirits are inside these bodies of flesh, just waiting and anticipating a better one (especially if this one is worn out..) hah :winking0071:

Hello Dux
Are you suggesting when Judas kissed Jesus in order to identify him, that Jesus had somehow changed his appearance from what it was? Would not Judas have recognized the voice of Jesus with certainty, whereas those who came to arrest him, would not have recognized his voice with certainty? Was this time not a time of apprehension, fear and confusion? In the semi-darkness in which the soldiers had come to arrest Jesus, would they not require a positive form of identification? The fact that some standing there fell backwards, when Jesus called out, is not surprising, considering they could have been rubbing shoulders with Jesus and were simply caught off balance when he shouted out.
All the best
David
PS I was thinking more of an alien like that presented in science fiction stories. Imagine Jesus having a lizard-like head with tentacles and webbed feet. That would have made Jesus stand out of the crowd. By God's fertilization of Mary's egg, Jesus was destined to be a plain looking man. (Isaiah 53:2) For he (Jesus) shall grow up before him (God) as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he (Jesus) hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him (Jesus), there is no beauty that we should desire him (Jesus).

But some have thought Jesus looked like 'Ditimus Thomas', and some like Judas. The coat of many colors worn by Joseph, being a type of Jesus who brings salvation to ALL races and colors of men.:thumb:
