:attention: I've come to believe that the "fragments" left over from Jesus Word are like the whispered word going around the classroom or around the world.. so the contrast between Peleg and Joktan are comparable to the Truth vs hearsay..
Jesus fed the 5,000 men, plus women and children, with five loaves and two fishes -- and afterwards they took up twelve (12) baskets of fragments. Then he took seven loaves and a few fishes, Matt 15:34, and fed 4,000 men, plus women and children -- and afterward collected seven (7) baskets of fragments!
So the multitudes went home and told their neighbors and others what Jesus had said, and soon the libraries were full of the accounts -- full of fragments!
Imagine that! a kind of bread where the fragments are greater than what you started with; just as thousands upon thousands of books have been written ABOUT the Bible, and just as all those hundreds of people who heard Him speak are bound to have gone home and told their neighbors all about it. This is truly the kind of bread that multiplies!
Mark8:19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. 8:20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. 8:21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
Is this some kind of subtle arithmetic? Or should we understand how Jesus is THE WORD and the TRUE BREAD that has now been published throughout the world, both orally and in print, for such a long time that the fragments (what others have written about it) now exceed what He spoke...
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John6:63
