What was the purpose of the pillars on Solomon's Temple? The Sampson pillars supported the structure (the building), but that wasn't the case for 'Boaz and Jachin' -- they were free-standing and didn't support anything. Were they like guards of some kind? Some modern buildings have many columns, seemingly for decorative purpose, so the Biblical pillars may have been the influence. Ideas, anyone?

Hello Dux
Have you seen Michael Rood's series on; 'The Great Secret of Solomon's Temple' It certainly gives food for thought. Here is the link to part 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWCEmKGQF_U

Rood says a lot about "scoffers" who don't believe the Bible, and I've noticed we have a few right here on BWF. Folks decide to take a stand one way or the other and then they either accept or reject opinions that don't fit. Maybe they ought to lighten up a bit, instead of opposing the thousands of Godly opinions favoring the essence of Rood's message. Hmmm?

If by "scoffers" you mean someone who actually cares about the truth, then I'm guilty as charged. Rood has a very questionable past. Why should I care what Rood calls people who don't believe the Bible? The fact that people allow themselves to be deluded by obviously false teachings says a lot about the whole of Christianity. Don't you care about the truth at all? A quick search could see just how FALSE his claims are in the first five minutes of that video.

Excellent points L67.

After years of discussing the Bible with believers, I have come to the conclusion that those least likely to admit what it really says are those who claim to believe it is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. And I'm not joking. I'm dead serious. I can not think of anything more ironic ... or pathetic.

Thanks Richard.

I look back and see how I rationalized much the same way Christians do on this board. That's what makes this forum so valuable. It serves as a constant reminder just how far religion can lead you into darkness. I'm forever grateful for the hard work you have put into this forum.

Take care.
