I just finsished watching a PBS on the Family of Jesus. It really put some things in perspective that I was trying to convey . The Early Church had no problems being both Hebrew ,Jewish and New. Peter & Paul eventually became to voice for Christianity and James and the actual family of Jesus faded from the scene. Thats what the show laid down. That is the way it was supposed to be I think as far as His family is concerned. It certainly gave them the freedom to propagate in a more clandestine manner.
So what happened to all the Christian Jews ? Did they all simply Assimilate into the Gentile congregations ? It is practical to assume that indeed they did so and I suspect they did so in a meticulous manner . I would also make the assumption that some of the bloodlines were kept within the existing Jewish populations that passed the Torah scroll from from genreration to generation . I really love this kind of meditative thought becuase when I go to the Reform Temple the Old and New both come alive for me. This is especially true where I go because of the mixed blood of the congregation. Peace Christan http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/religion/jesus/tree.html

The Bible tells us what was to happen to 'them'....They were to 'become' 'a' 'New Creation'.....and they did.

Good Shabbos to you Brother Les. As I finished my work for the day last evening I suddenly settled into myself . I thought it was Saturday but to my amazement it was Friday night. It truly feels like a small rest but a rest none the same. I really do for a large part see the Jewish congregations around me as a new creation . It seems they have adopted Christian Philosophy and Values. In one conservative congregation I even heard them refer to the Temple as being a spirtual temple and indaviduals being the stones. So I guess what I am saying is that I have seen the Holy Spirit at work in jewish congregations. Truth is the new one has grounds that are so close and welcoming that I go there to pray and meditiate as part of my walks.
When the new rabbi (Whom I do not call Rabbi) speaks he usually sais something I need to hear.
This place I attend is truly different than any church I have been to .The only others who have shown the kind of interest in me as a whole person are the Mormons. The first time I attended a Torah study only monthes after beginning hebrew classes they told me they needed me verbatem. Now that was the old guard of many that went through the holocaust and have since gone to sleep. But there remains a few and others who are like my own family to me although I dont see them as often as I would like to. I guess what I am saying is there is something wonderful going on. I see a time soon when the remaining Jewish congregations on the planet will officially become prat of the Christian Body. That is why I am doing my part to facilitate that event.Yours truly 7 Peace. Hello my friend. The speed and ease of gaining information. This changes outlooks and values.
Good Shabbos to you Brother Les.
I don't understand Hebrew/Yiddish (?) (no disrespect intended), and I tried to find (with small effert) the meaning of the word 'Shabbos'. What I passingly found was, that it is 'the weekly Jewish Religious service'...(?)
Am I far off?
Blessings to You

Shabbos means Shabat . Shabat Shalom is the other greeting. Both Muslim and Jew say Shalom Alayhem Alayhem Shalom OR Salam Aleyem Aleyhem Salam as the greeting . I am sure your a busy fellow but I pray you will eventually find time for language study. Jesus said you must receive the kingdom as a child. I will tell you learning any new language is just that. :thumb:Its a true gift to have the time to become "As a child in a new language" I would like my children to learn Hebrew as their first tongue and Assiniboine as their second .
I had a realization this past week. Perhaps two trees of life means in part that there will be two Sabbaths just like the two loaves at pentecost. What fun that would be eh ?
