"I like this guy's sentiment but he too idol worships what he has read in scriptures, ---- while pointing out to others that they should not do so. He ignores the log in his eye and speaks of the sliver in others eyes."
Oh really besides the numerous ways I could attack your statement I will defend the Bible and glorify God in the process(glory to God hmm how is that idolzing the Bible)
Lets defend the Bible first.
Joshua 1:8 KJV
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. "
2 Timothy 2:15-16 KJV
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness"
Psalms 138:2 KJV
"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name"
The word of God is above the name of Jesus the only name on earth the we can be saved by. Didint you know that? You Didint? Amazing edifying we are getting done today
Lets see study the word meditate on the word.
Hebrews 4:12 KJV
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
word of God sharper then a sword.
How nice now for my personal rant.
The word of God is the sole rock/foundation for our faith. Without the words contained in it we would know nothing about creation, Jesus, and God the father himself.
If we Didint have the word of God these would not be possible our faith though could be true is vanity.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works"
We would not beable to reproof, correct, instruct in righteousness, and be throughly furnished unto all good works. We definitely wouldent be perfect as defined by the Bible.
Leviticus 22:21 KJV
"And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein"
Now for idolism
Deuteronomy 32:17 KJV
"They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not"
devils a synonym for gods hmm lets explore this elsewhere
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 KJV
"If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul"
Woah so gods can be devils or Israelites/God's children or sons.
This is the definition of witchcraft, devil or Biblically spirit worship.
Now why is this new? It's not God already said this in exodus 20:3 KJV
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
That's a warning against witchcraft. Not idolism.
Exodus 20:4-5 KJV
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me"
He is warning us against worshipping graven (lifeless) images.
Any other accusations?
