"The symbol of God’s sacred covenant with his chosen people was, essentially, a Leyden Jar, a device capable of producing thousands of volts of static electricity"

Interesting article. . .
Thanks for posting the link! :)
I enjoyed reading it although my conclusion differs slightly from that of the author. But we see that God brillantly used the laws of physics that he himself created to produce something really extraordinary.
As I believe, God doesn't do "magic" he just understands and applies multidimensional principles of his creation to cause events that look like "miracles" to us who cannot grasp the source and cause.

Hey folks,
That's an interesting take Michael. Did you see "Exodus Decoded (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exodus_Decoded)" with Simcha Jacobovici? He attempted to explain all ten plagues in terms of a very unlikely series of nature events. I hate that idea. To me, creation is a thought in the mind of God, and miracles are not "magic' - God just thinks a thought that what He thinks becomes reality. That's infinitely better than thinking He's like some super smart creaturely engineer "just using the laws of nature." In my view, the "laws of nature" are only the regularies in His thought patterns. (An interesting challenge to this idea is the modern theories that relate the nature of the laws to the nature of the things they govern ... e.g. inverse square law is derived from the geometry of waves propogated in 3D space. But that's probably another thread.)
As for the Leydon jar - how is that relevant? Wouldn't any box overlayed with a conductor like gold or silver "work" as such? A much simpler explanation then of the design of the ark is that gold-covered word was common back then because it was pretty, and preserved well. Is there anything that suggests it was used to store electricity other than the fact that it was held with rods (supposedly to prevent electrocution of the priests)?
I find this not convincing.

Hmmm somewhere in the midst of it all three must be some kind of energy going on. What about the Breast plate and the Urim and Tumin ? Man it sounds like a huge motherboard to me.. I see the outer court of the temple as the outer planetary area. The inner court as that which contains the Earth moon venus and mars as well as mercury. The alter in the inner court would be the sun and the Temple well here is where it gets more complex of course. The inside of the temple gives me the distinct impression of a womans insides .The holy of holies being the uterus. Then the 33 chambers as vertabrea. Whe all is said and done there must be something other than just chemicals and electricity . Its called His Love. I dont know exactly how it makes things do what they do .But the light that love gives off is more refined that that of a what we know as a star. The light behind the light I presume. Peace .Christan

Hi you all! I am new here and I want to share some thing I wrote to my sister some time ago......... The Ark of theCovenant has been found, hiding in plain sight!
If you have accepted the saving grace that our Lord Jesus Christ has provided by His Blood at the Cross,I believe that when you look in the mirror, you will find it. And here is why.
The Ark of the Covenant contained three things. These were the Ten Commandments written in stone, the pot of Manna, and the rod of Arron.
1. The Commandments are now written in your heart. Jer.31:33
2. You have eaten of the bread that came down from heaven and He will sustain you all the days of your life. St.John6:32-35
3.The rod of Arron that budded to show the people that God had chosen Arron to be a priest and minister unto Him.Rev. 1:6
Oh,I almost forgot, just as the Ark was sprinkled with blood,so were you.1 Pet. 1:2
This my line of thinking. I hope it is a blessing to you all. handyman
