He is the one who has set free the two kinds of water, one sweet and palatable, and the other salty and bitter. And He has made between them a barrier and a forbidding partition.
(Quran, 25:53)
He has set free the two seas meeting together. There is a barrier between them. They do not transgress.
(Quran, 55:19-20)

The Plagiaristic, copy-cat Koran
:blah:
The Women
Sura[4.34] Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.
The Dinner Table
Sura[5.3] Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animal) and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall and that killed by being smitten with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten, except what you slaughter, and what is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols) and that you divide by the arrows; that is a transgression. This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion; but whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining willfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Sura[38.44] And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with It and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant!
Mohammed just altered and corrupted what he didn't approve of from his study of the Torah... :p

If a woman is arrogant and does not change her attitude after the advice given by her husband, and she does not change her attitude even after he removes her from the bed, then a muslim may beat his wife.
All this steps are to prevent the divorce, but if woman continues in her attitude even after, the divorce is necessary.
It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said: “The most hated Halal by Allah is divorce.”
Halal- something that God allowed.
It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said:"Any woman who seeks divorce from her husband without reason, has to stop to enjoy the fragrance of Paradise."
It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said:"None but a noble man treats women in an honourable manner. And none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully". (At-Tirmithy).
Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: I went to the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) and asked him: "What do you say (command) about our wives?" He replied: "Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them." (Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 11, Number 2139)
I cannot deny the fact that there are people who give their daughters for marriage without consent of their. But that is not Islam!
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said:
A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her
"and a virgin should not be given in marriage except after her permission."
The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! How can we know her permission?" He said, "Her silence (indicates her permission)." (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 67)

The dividing of the waters is a principal theme of the Bible that is used by the Koran, but Mohammed didn't know, apparently, about adding water to the 'dust' to make a "new lump". Didn't know about "rightly dividing" God's Word -- all 66 books from Genesis to Revelation.
Bread is a principal theme:
[12.36] And two youths entered the prison with him. One of them said: I saw myself pressing wine. And the other said: I saw myself carrying bread on my head, of which birds ate. Inform us of its interpretation; surely we see you to be of the doers of good.
:thumbsdown:Knowing NOTHING of the allegory of how these two represent communion..
Koran probably inspired by Apocryphal books or other earlier writings of commentary on the Bible... maybe device of Satan? :winking0071:

But, how is possible that The Quran warns about deceiving methods of Satan more than the Bible itself with 66 books. (with 66 books and 1600 pages)??!!

Hey there culi26, :yo:
No, that is not an argument for the Quran being the word of God. The video made the absurd assertion that the waters "don't mix" because Allah himself was keeping them separate. I say that it absurd because such "divisions" between the waters are explained by elementary science. It has nothing to do with Allah or Yahweh or any God. It's just basic science.
Christians and Muslims have been making up those kinds of arguments for many years. They convince nobody but the ignorant or those who already believe in the Bible or the Quran. No scientifically knowledgeable skeptic would ever be convince by such arguments.

They don't have barriers and they do mix. If the Quran says otherwise, then it is wrong.
It is true that they can have regions that don't mix very quickly, but it is false to say they have "barriers" and that they "do not mix."
Have you studied the science of hydrodynamics? If not, why do you feel qualified to make these assertions?

There are scientists who accepted scientific arguments from the Quran.
On the other hand there are scientists (not fake) who also deny the scientific arguments in the Qur'an!
But the worst thing is that many of these are not scientists, but only appear as such, copying texts from others, claiming that they are scientists, but only in their websites!
We are between two fires! Between the Bible and the Quran!

It's great that you see both sides - some scientists believe there is science in the Quran, and some don't. But if we took a poll, I bet the numbers would be something like 99999 to 1. And of those who do believe, you would almost certainly find that they were Muslims who began with the presumption that the Quran was the Word of Allah. If you disagree, please cite three published scientists who were not Muslims when they came to the conclusion that there is science in the Quran.
But the worst thing is that many of these are not scientists, but only appear as such, copying texts from others, claiming that they are scientists, but only in their websites!
That's the only kind of "evidence" for "science in the Quran" that I have ever seen. I've never seen any legitimate scientific evidence produced by legitimate scientists supporting that idea. For example, can you cite a published hydrologist who supports your claim about the barriers in the waters?
We are between two fires! Between the Bible and the Quran!
Actually, I'd say that both the Bible and the Quran are themselves being "tested by fire."

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I don't think Rose feels "scorned" by the Bible - that phrase is for a women who has been "scorned" by a lover. Probably a more apt cultural reference would be "I am Woman, hear me roar" by Helen Reddy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu4xpDuf84A
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore [Especially since more of us men are waking up to the high virtue of equal rights]
And I know too much to go back an' pretend [Once the spell of male domination is broken, there's no going back.]
'cause I've heard it all before [Every excuse in the "Book" :)~]
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again [Might want to think about this one for a while. Where will Christianity be in a 100 years when women are truly free?]
CHORUS
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul [my convictions grow stronger every day]
CHORUS
I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
FADE
I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman

In my comment to John I was speaking of the Bible, even though the same applies to Islam. You ask where I find this argument in the Bible, well I have a big article on my blog called the Male Bias of the Bible (http://godandbutterfly.net/the-male-bias-of-the-bible/), showing how the entire Bible is written from a male perspective and slanted in his favor. In my article I list out numerous verses throughout the entire Bible that shows how women through God given laws are considered no more than property. The criteria for denying women their equal human rights is based on gender alone.
I have no desire whatsoever to convert to a religion like Islam, that denies woman basic human rights given to men!

Yes, Rose should be a Muslim for a few months together with her husband, and only then will they appreciate how much better is the treatment of the Christian God is towards women. There is no maltreatment against women in God's or Allah's eyes, it is what we perceived it as. This is also caused by men's misinterpretation of the scriptures in the Bible and the Koran.

Your comment is illogical. Neither the "Christian God" nor the "Muslim God" actually "do" anything. The treatment of women in Christianity and Islam is determined by the Scriptures those religions attribute to their Gods. It has nothing to do with any "gods" per se.
Your repeated assertion that the mistreatment is caused by "men's misinterpretation of the scriptures in the Bible and the Koran" has been proven false a thousand times. You have never refuted any of the proofs. It has been proven that the Christian and Islamic Scriptures are biased against women. If you don't want to admit this, then you will be living in a fantasy world. Do they have roller-coasters and free beer in your fantasy world too?

Hello Rose
But the Christian religion today is not preventing women having an education, and filling their potential. I do not see these restrictions happening. Women and men are free to believe in God and Jesus and go about their daliy business as they choose. If there is imbalance/injustice in today's society it is because of male domination. I say again; blame man and not God.
Women are given equal rights in coming to God and worshipping Him and believing in Him. All the sisters-in-Christ that I know would not complain that God is biased against them.
It is a fact that in ancient times women had a bad deal and that has been reflected in the cultures of the OT period, but in the eyes of God, women have had equal opportunity to be saved. What do you think the ratio of men to women will be amongst those who make it to the kingdom of God. On man's past performance, I would expect more women than men will get there.
All the best,
David

Agree with you David. I would like to add that many women are not so ambitious and many do not wish to take the leadership roles which comes with greater responsibilities and higher stress. In modern times, there are maids, babysitters, child care centres to help look after their children and there are many modern day machines to ease house chores, thus many women have the time to pursue their educations and ambitions in life. This is unlike ancient days when such luxuries were not available and somehow someone have to look after the children and do housechores.
God Blessings to you and all.

Hey Cheow, why don't you try walking in a woman's shoes before you go spouting off your mouth. All you do is make yourself look extremely foolish with your misogynistic utterances!
Just because Christianity treats women better than Islam doesn't mean it's good. Look at it this way; it is better that I slap you than stab you, but slapping you is still NOT good! Women have been treated horribly by Christian men who used Scripture to justify their wicked deeds; the sad thing is that the Bible is written so they could do that.
The only reason you call my exposure of the truth an obsession is because you know it's true and you don't want to deal with it.

Hello David,
The only reason women have equal rights in this country is because of the efforts of the women and men who fought for those rights, which went contrary to the teachings of the Bible. There are still many fundamentalist churches that do not allow a woman to teach or hold a position of leadership, also they hold to the doctrines that the man has rulership over the woman...that is not considered equal human rights.
I'm not talking about peoples freedom to believe in God or Jesus, I'm speaking of women being allowed to pursue their dreams and live up to their full potential, just like a man. If you believe the Bible was inspired by God then all of the male bias it contains lies solely at the feet of God. Now, I believe the Bible was written from the minds of men, so I lay the blame for its bias against women solely at the feet of men.
Take care,
Rose

Take care,
Rose
Hello Rose
So women have been battling against men and men's misuse of God's instructions; that is not God's fault, so we agree men are to blame. As Cheow has reminded us, men were given greater responsibility to teach God's laws and women were not to usurp the man's authority given to him to carry out that work. I know women in the church who accept the role of men and these women are not barred from teaching anyone outside of the church. The disciples of Jesus were told to go into the world and preach the Gospel and women were not excluded in preaching the Gospel. All who believe and are baptized will be saved and women are included.
Pinciples are laid down in the OT and God selected the men from the tribe of Levi to be priests to carry out the services in the Tabernacle which carried on into the services conducted in the temple.. Women had other tasks to do at that time and were probably not bothered about it the way that you are now. . I know women who are more capable than men and who are more versed in the scriptures than the men. These women have recognized the role of men in the service of God and they do not usurp the man's authority in the performance of religious duties.
Rather than there be any division amongst worshippers, if a woman cannot submit to God's principles, then women are free to meet in a church where they can contribute more and lead church services. If we have got this wrong, we should not blame God. This does not alter the fact that God saves. God's word including the Gospel message whereby everyone who hears the message and believes and is baptized will be saved and given eternal life. In my estimation, this outweighs all the deaths of abominable people who were reprobates and who were destroyed.
If there is nothing in the Bible you can believe in and you want to keep justifying your reason to disbelieve it, there is a limit to what we can say to help you reason these things out. I think I shall be reaching my limit very soon as I am and running out of explanations to help you think in a different way. I can see from what you claim the Bible says, that you have been taught in error and this is a massive obstacle to overcome. You say you do not believe it, but those false teachings are etched into your brain and hence that is what you quote when you refer to the Bible. I agree you are correct to abandon those false teachings you were taught but you are not seeing the true God or the true Jesus of the Bible. In dismissing the Bible and God as you are doing, you are throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.
All the best,
David

Rose, it's not true that Christianity treats women better than Islam!
Was not 8 March 1909 or 1910, when women were raised to demand their rights??!! Have you heard that Muslim women joined this revolution! No??!
Every mountain has wolves!! If I say that every muslim treats with respect their wifes, I would be lying! But in Islam the woman has a very favorable position!
Allah Almighty says, "Live together with them correctly and courteously," (4:19)
'The most perfect of believers in belief is the best of them in character. The best of you are those who are the best to their women.'" [at-Tirmidhi]
I think this is a strong proof of how a Muslim should behave towards his wife!!
Do not judge Islam based on the behavior of people, but judge the behavior of people according to Islam!

Good morning David,
If you believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God then God is to blame for the teachings contained therein, otherwise if you believe as I do that the Bible was written from the minds of men then man is to blame for the teachings therein.
We only have the laws in the Bible that were written from the hands of men, and spoken from the mouths of men, so of course men are going to give themselves greater authority than women because men are more power hungry and want to dominate. It is men who are saying women are usurping their "God given" authority, and responsibility, but if you want to speak of responsibility there is no greater responsibility than that of carrying a life within a one's body...would any rational god give a woman that kind of responsibility and then put her in subjection to a man? Women are denied equal human rights by men who get their ideas from the words of Scripture.
Pinciples are laid down in the OT and God selected the men from the tribe of Levi to be priests to carry out the services in the Tabernacle which carried on into the services conducted in the temple.. Women had other tasks to do at that time and were probably not bothered about it the way that you are now. . Yes, many women choose to bow down to man's authority because they think that is God's order in the Bible, which validates my point exactly. Women are denied equal human rights with men because of the teachings of Scripture.
Rather than there be any division amongst worshippers, if a woman cannot submit to God's principles, then women are free to meet in a church where they can contribute more and lead church services. If we have got this wrong, we should not blame God. This does not alter the fact that God saves. Once again, it is men who say that women should be subjected to them because it is written in the Bible. The blame lies solely at the feet of whoever is responsible for the Bible's content. I say it is evident that men wrote the Bible, because of its strong male bias. No gender neutral god could inspire a book that is so obviously biased toward the man.

I have not been taught in error, rather I have studied the Bible for myself and found it to be a book full of inequality. Woman are denied basic human rights and treated as property throughout the Old Testament, and put in subjection to men in the New Testament.
Can you honestly tell me that the Bible does not deny women equal human rights with men? And if you say it does, how can a just god decree such inequality?
Take care,
Rose
