Yes, except sound is the vibration of molecules of a medium like air or water, whereas light is the "vibration" of the electromagnetic field whcih travels through a vacuum.

I thought I had "light" at one time but found out it was darkness. And came face to face with that "Vacuum", within .

That's an interesting view of things. What exactly did you mistake for "light within" that turned out to be darkness?
Do you really think that the "Christian" has a light within that is missing from all others? How would you know that? And how would it differ from the "burning in the bosom" that convinces Mormons? I've asked this question many times on this forum, but I don't recall receiving an answer. How is a person supposed to know if they have "light" of "true belief" as opposed to all others who mistakenly think the same thing?

Deep wisdom in that video:
"The function of the ego is to help structure our human existence. The ego is meant to serve your soul and not to be a dominating factor in your life."
When the soul realizes its unity with God, Christ's teaching that the ego must "die" makes perfect sense. It is not the True Self that must die, but rather the ego that has usurped the rightful position of the Soul/Spirit that is in union with God. The "ego" must be a servant to the higher good.

Hum... but what difference do you make between the term "vibration" in :
vibration of molecules,
vibration of electromagnetic field,
As I understand both vibration have Elementary particules to support them. (Quarks, Leptons for molecules and photons, bosons for light)...
But the term "electromagnetic field" rings the "Wave" Bell in my head.
The way, the gentle light of the candle is transmitted to the other candles, is the same as ; the way, the wave of a gentle wind in a field is transmitted, from one herbe to another.
No single grass is removed from the soil, nor is diminished, but still, the wave is shared smoothly over huge areas of the field.

Yes, that's why I don't feel so confortable with the "light" image. It is quick to switch off. But if light is seen as a vibration of high frequency then, in a darkness one may still feel a vibration of low frequency.
As for the vacuuuuuuuum, if really nothing is there, then really, there nothing to talk about  Let's collapse that empty ego and start again :P ...BADABOUM! Do you think this would be the first bip or bop?

Richard do you believe we have a soul/spirit?
Hey there Skeptical,
Welcome to our forum!
:welcome:
I am skeptical about a "soul" that exists independently of the body. It seems most likely that we are our bodies. Though I don't think the Bible gives any legitimate insight on this question, it is interesting that it actually coheres with the Biblical description which says that the "soul" is the union of the "breath of life" and the body made of "dust" (matter). In the Bible, both animals and humans are called "living souls" (nefesh chayah). It also is interesting that there are "Christian physicalists" who believe that humans are entirely physical (no separate soul).
There also is confusion about "soul" vs. "spirit." On the one hand, I am inclined towards the idea that Mind is the "ground of being" while on the other hand it seems materialism explains everything. One solution is a Monism that sees the "mattter/mind" duality as just two aspects of a single underlying unity.
But all such speculations are just that - mere speculations. There is no reason to worry about it. The effect will be the same. If we are just bodies and death means we simply cease to exist, we won't be there to care about it so it won't matter. If, on the other hand, we die and find that we continue to exist, then great! There's nothing to worry about either. All the worry about a "judgment" after death where you would be threatened with eternal suffering was created by RELIGIONS that were designed to CONTROL YOUR MIND and steal your money and make you into a slave. No rational person could believe that any God could be so irrational and cruel as to create a hell to cause eternal suffering.

Happiness is something everyone wants to have. You may be successful and have a lot of money, but without happiness it will be meaningless.
