Hi guys, don't be too excited by the title of the thread. :winking0071:

I have discussed this before and I would like to share a new inspiration. I am open to other views.

Why is shame of nakedness an indication that Adam and Eve knew about good and evil? Isn't it curious that shame of nakedness is associated with having knowledge of good and evil? The equation is:

Shame of nakedness thus covering nakedness = knowledge of good and evil,
Therefore no shame of nakedness = no knowledge of good and evil (sounds familiar right?....pornography = no knowledge of good and evil = no moral and immorality??)

Man is the only animal in the world that is shameful of their nakedness. Other animals are not shameful of their nakedness and also some very primitive tribes in the jungle. Does that suggest that they are not aware or lack of moral and immorality?

Is no knowledge of good and evil the same as no or lack of awareness of moral and immorality? The Bible seems to say so:
1. Eve was beguile by the serpent. Eve was then naked and thus have no knowledge of moral and immorality
2. Only when they have eaten the forbidden fruit, did they realized the shame of their nakedness and used leaves to cover their nakedness.
Covering of shame of nakedness = knowledge of moral and immorality.
3. Revelation mentioned the whore, mother of immorality. Therefore, removing the whore i.e. removing knowledge of immorality left us only with knowledge of morality into the tree of life as stated in Revelation.

May God's wisdom abounds in us. Amen.

The tree of knowledge of good and evil certainly has something to do with morals. The meaning of the meaning of morals from an on-line dictionary is:

morals, principles or habits with respect to right or wrong conduct.

There are some articles from the internet that also says that the tree of knowledge of good and evil is related to morality and immorality. This is also the reason why when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they began to know what morals (i.e. right or wrong conduct) is all about and the first thing that they did was to cover their nakedness.

The tree of knowledge of good and evil can thus be interpreted as the source of knowledge of what is right and what is wrong, what is moral and what is immoral.

May God give us the ability to discern between right and wrong. Amen.

Why must Adam and Eve covered their naked in shame once they obtained the knowledge of good and evil? The obvious reason was that they were shameful of the sin that they committed. Therefore, nakedness represents the shame of sin. See Hosea 2:9:

"Therefore I will take away my grain when it ripens, and my new wine when it is ready. I will take back my wool and my linen, intended to cover her nakedness."

Why did God made a garment or full coat (not bikini or bra and underwear) to cover their nakedness? God making them a garment covering their nakedness means God was offering them a full solution to remove their shame of sin through offer of righteousness. Cover one's nakedness means not exposed to sin and thus righteousness.

Why did Noah cursed Ham when he saw Noah's nakedness and did not immediately cover it? Seeing one's nakedness means seeing the shame of sin and not covering nakedness means not attempting to resolve the shame of sin by being righteous. It also shows Ham's poor respect towards Noah.

Gen.9:18-25 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. 20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. 24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. 25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

I am still puzzled over one funny thought:
Many men enjoy looking at women's nakedness, why? Perhaps, it's natural so that it caused arousal to reproduce and populate the earth which is good according to God's command. On the other hand, it caused temptation to evil if done in the evil ways. On the other hand, many women are disgusted looking at men's nakedness, why? I have no idea except perhaps, so that they will not be tempted to sin or tempt men to sin. Just as Jesus said that one has already committed adultery in his heart if one looks at women with lust. I believe it goes the same with women looking at men with lust.
