Patterns in the Bones - numerical patterns found in the skeleton
We may consider the human skeleton as having three axes -
1. The vertical Y axis consisting of Head and spine
2. The horizontal X axis consisting of hands, arms and shoulders
3. The horizontal Z axis consisting of feet, legs and pelvis
Then there is a core consisting of Rib cage and the Sternum that connects it to the spine
THE VERTICAL Y AXIS
The skull has 28 bones + the hyoid = 29 in total
The spine has 33 vertebrae
The total for the vertical axis is 29 + 33 = (64 - 2) bones
THE HORIZONTAL X AXIS
This consists of the bones of the hands, arms and shoulders.
The arms and hands have 60 bones
The shoulders have 4 bones
The total for the X axis is 64 bones
THE Z AXIS
This consists of the bones of the legs and pelvis
In the thighs, legs and feet there are a total of 60 bones
The Pelvis is made up of 2 main bones that each divide into 3 parts - ilium, ichium and pubis, making a total of 6 bones.
Total number of bones = 64 + 2
THE INNER CORE
24 ribs
Sternum = 3 bones
Total = 27 bones
What is remarkable is that each of the three axes averages to 64 bones or 4cubed.
Whilst the inner core comes to 27 bones - or 3 cubed
We are a cube within a cube.
4 cubed x 3 cubed = 12 cubed (cube of creation)
4 cubed - 3 cubed = 37
In a 4 x 4 x 4 cube, there are 64 units of which 27 are hidden, and a maximum of 37 are visible.
Another curious pattern is this. We can think of the human body as a trunk to which are attached the legs, arms and head
The arms + hands = 60 bones
The feet + legs = 60 bones
The Skull (28 bones) + teeth (32 bones) = 60 bones
I think I will gain a better understanding by looking at other mammals as well, and seeing how many bones for each of their axes.

I find this topic fascinating. But I always thought that the skull had 22 bones (source (http://education.yahoo.com/reference/gray/subjects/subject/30)).
And I don't quite follow your x-y-z axes: they aren't the normal x-y-z axes of 3D space, are they?
What is the source of your info? Does it originate with you, or are you following someone else?

The skull has 8 cranial bones, 14 facial bones, 3 bones in each ear = 28 bones
The Y axis is vertical hence spine and skull
The z axis is forward - backward hence the legs
The x axis is left-right hence the arms
Imagine the arms held out to the sides, as in Leonardo Da Vinci's picture. The arms lie in the x axis
Imagine a personwalking towards you. The legs move in the z axis.
Their are walking upright, so their spine and skull are in the y axis.
I thought of the idea of the x, y, z axes.

The Y axis is vertical hence spine and skull

OK - I didn't realize you were counting the ear bones. I don't think that's standard, but it makes some sense, and how things are grouped is somewhat arbitrary so it doesn't really matter.
I understand now what you are doing with the axes but that's a little confusing because it's non-standard.
But now I'm a little confused because your three axes only contain 192 bones, whereas the human body contains 206 bones. Which ones are missing, and why?

Sorry I missed that. I took the sum of the three axes, and missed the "inner core." I understand what you have done now.

This is not meant to be a serious post. This is just perhaps a curiosity. It is true that there are 28 in the skull, 1 hyoid, and 33 in the spine = 62
There are 64 in the arms + shoulders
There are 60 in the legs, and 6 fused bones in the pelvis = 66
It is just a curiosity that these three axes seem to approximate to 64 each, whilst the centre comes to 27
4 cubed and 3 cubed respectively. It would be interesting to see how this pattern plays out in different mammals. But right now it is just an interesting trivia.

I'm pretty sure I've read something like this before, but I don't recall where. I thought it was on Vernon's site.
But I do believe there are some "serious" points to be made by studying the structure of bones. I first got curious about this when I noticed the identity etzmo (his bones, Eze 37:7) = 206 = the number of bones in the human body. And there is the ancient Jewish tradition that a vertical presentation of the Tetragrammaton gives a rough outline of the human form:

And later, I became quite intrigued by the 22 bones of the skull ( = golgoluth in Hebrew), and it's connection with the Bible Wheel (= galgal in Hebrew = 66 = 3 x 22) and the correspondence with the Canon Wheel, the Tri-radiant halo behind the head of Christ, and the geometry and function of the brain in the skull:

I was intrigued by the alignment of the three main folds in the brain with the divisions of the Canon Wheel, and the fact that the functions seemed to correspond quite directly on Cycle 1, namely, the Logical left hemisphere corresponds to the Law, and the Intuitive right hemisphere to Wisdom, and the temporal lobes correspond to the large "OT Historical" section on the bottom. And this unified brain/wheel pattern is implied in the traditional icons of Christ with the tri-radiant halo, of course:
