WHO CARRIED THE CROSS?

Matthew27:32 "And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross"

Mark15:21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Luke 23:26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

THESE FIRST THREE GOSPELS ALL WRITE ABOUT THE CROSS BEING CARRIED BY A CYRENIAN; but John's Gospel doesn't mention the Cyrenian at all, and NOTHING about Jesus stumbling under the weight of 'his cross'.

John 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. 19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

The "fly in the ointment" (or 'squirrel in the woodpile') is because of how Matthew 10:38 records a metaphorical use of 'taking the cross', which the apostles (including John) were there to hear.

Ecclesiastes 10:1 "Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour"..

Matthew 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. :winking0071:
