Dear Richard,
Could you make your gematria program do a whole chapter and even a
whole book of the bible?
Thanks,
Dave Jenson

Hi Dave,
I could add those features without too much difficulty. But one problem is that the information would not be very meaningful without careful analysis because you always need to take into account the textual variations. You can do that verse by verse because the software indicates when there are Kethiv vs. Kere variations in the Hebrew, and in the Greek you can compare the NA27 vs TR readings. But when you start looking at whole chapters or books, the sum-total numerical data becomes less and less reliable because there are more and more variations that need to be evaluated.

You can also do context searches by clicking the verse and come up with the whole chapter and the values for each verse.
See the example of Genesis 1 (http://www.biblewheel.com/GR/GR_Database.asp?bnum=1&cnum=1&vnum=1&InContext=Yes#v1).

I've prepared a site on searching the bible. There's one page where you can search keywords in two different text side-by-side.

I've done that years ago. But I came up with difficutlies and am not sure presently if the hebrew database is accurate and so I gave up.
If you want to know what went wrong, I had first found a website of the entire bible in Michigan Claremont ( I think that's how it's spelt) version of Hebrew.Now the problem was that if you want to search words some of the words had open brackets and other punctuation as hebrew letters. That objected the search engine.
So I had decided to change some letters but then was confused if it's accurate or not. I had to make sure that I picked characters which are not used in the database.
Another problem is that some free webspaces don't work all the time. I'll try to find and give you the link however.

Unfortunately, even though I found the site, it's giving me:
HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error

If any of you love programming and want to take this reponsability and know or want to learn ASP and database MSAcces I don't mind sharing my files with you.
Maybe you can find a webhost that has ASP and database. Maybe you want to open your own and I'll share them to you.

I'll even make it available if any of you want to work and complete this website on Gemetria.
You can download it from rapidshare.com:

Hi Gilgal,
I went to that page and clicked on the links, but nothing happened.
Edit to add: It works fine in Firefox but it doesn't work at all in IE 6.

OK thanks for letting me know. I was going to check the IE6 ( always a problem ). I was also thinking that I'm probably going to add some toggles so that, if possible, I can open and close iframes. This way if there are more than two findings or links I can open and close that which I choose to view.

Ok I did a lot of fixes but it's only going to work in FireFox. I still have to work for IE6. I think IE 7 should be fine. Since there's a lot of programming it makes it difficult to maintain the structure and looks of the site. But it serves searching the bible pretty well.
Here's the list of what you can do ( from the navigation content ):
* Search The Bible (http://gilgalbiblewheel.webng.com/) ( I included all kinds of searches including searching by Spoke which you can't find in other bible search engines )
* Compare Two Texts (http://gilgalbiblewheel.webng.com/search/cat/twotexts.asp)
* Paste in Forums (http://gilgalbiblewheel.webng.com/search/cat/forumtwotexts.asp) is similar to the one above except that it has encodings that allow you to simply copy/paste in forums instead of doing it manually when you paste passages in your postings.
* Spoke Data (http://gilgalbiblewheel.webng.com/search/cat/biblewheeldata.asp) ( is a two column list on findings of passages that you can look in two texts side-by-side )
* Join my YahooGroup! (http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelofgod/)
