Why the five loaves and two fish is there any important to this that we can learn from? Let me first lay this out:
Rev.19:7,8
His wife hath made herself ready, and to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints
It's as if John is describing the harvest of grain which would be the Barley for they are called the "overcomers". For the barley is the first season grain crop that would have "overcame" the winter season. These that John describes here have overcame and seen as having fine linen which would be as those of priest and clean and white.
Now the white robes would be referring again to the harvest season which would be to the Flax.
Exodus 9:31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
Which would be ready to harvest at the same time of the Barley. Linen is made naturally. It is made by the fibres of flax plants. These fibres have natural shine, therefore, when the fabric is weaved and polished, the shine stays with the fabric.(white).
Rev.3:4-5
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
These that have overcame the same will be clothed in white robes for she had maded herself ready, the Bride of Christ.
But here's what I want to focus the discussion on is how Jesus used the five loaves and two fish to show something about the day of resurrection. Jesus told his disciples to gather up the remaining peices of "barley" loaves and fish. Was this so that they may have food for the remaining days ahead? It may well be, but then again Jesus feed the 4000 only days later. Which the disicples only had seven loaves and fishes. (Matthew 14:13-21 & Matthew 15:32-39).
So why instruct them to gather up the fragments? I think Jesus tells us why!
John 6:39-40
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day
Jesus is showing in this simple way of barley loaves that no one will be left in the grave, but will be raised to new life. Nice........ :thumb:
