Since Esther means hide:
1Kings 17:3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that [is] before Jordan.
1Kings 17:3 לך מזה ופנית לך קדמה ונסתרת בנחל כרית אשר עלפני הירדן

Since Esther means hide:
Very interesting link Gilgal. The root str (hide) appears in 1 Kings only in the 17th chapter.
It also is interesting that a woman plays as central role in the events of the 17th chapter, just as Esther is the main character of the 17th book.
But the strongest links are to Malachi (Spoke 17, Cycle 2). Just as Elijah the Tishbite first appears in chapter 17, so he is predicted to come again in Malachi. And there is a very intriguing connection with his name "Tishbite" which is based on the root shuv which means "return" and is the root of teshuvah (repentance). And this root appears in his miracle when he resurrected the widows son. The text says his soul tashav (returned) to his body. This root appear also in the prophecy fulfilled by John the Baptist:
Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn (shuv) the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
And finally, there is a KeyLink between 1 Kings 17 and the Book of Malachi based on the name of the 17th Letter Pey (Mouth):
1 Kings 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth (pey) is truth.
Malachi 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth (pey), and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
Seems like some pretty solid connections.
Thanks.
