Texe Marrs is a certifiable loon. He holds to crazy conspiracy theories, believes in KJV Only, and endless other kooky ideas.
The thread title is totally misleading. Ryan Sorba's presentation was designed to offend and provoke a "shout down." He began by saying "I'd like to condemn CPAC for bring GoPride to this event." The audience responded with boos and he raised his arms and said "Bring it. Bring it. I love it." He then argued that homosexually is wrong because "the intelligible end of the reproductive act is reproduction." His point seems to be that sex as a pleasurable expression of mutual love is morally wrong. When they booed again, again he said "The lesbians at Smith college protest better than you do." And "Yeah, bring it, bring it."
He looks like a showman sowing discord for his own political ends, which is a grave sin since it unnecessarily divides (and weakens) our nation.

Yeah I saw Ryan Sorba's speech. But he didn't give a good presentation. He didn't explain himself properly.
But somewhere else Ron Paul was interviewed (I can't recall which Christian radio show) and said that gays are probably born that way.

This is an important question. Why do some Christians who love God with their whole heart struggle with their attraction to others of the same sex? We can not say that it is because they are "reprobate" as in Romans 1 because these people have been known to fast and pray endlessly for God to set them free. And we know they really mean it because they greatly suffer believing that their desires are contrary to God, and it destroys their fellowship with other Christians.
So if a redeemed Christian struggles with these feelings, what is the source? Most claim they never consciously chose to have these feelings any more than heterosexuals chose their desires. They were just "born that way."
How do you understand this?

That's ok.
If you could tell me what part you don't understand, I will try to make myself more clear.

There are redeemed Christians who have desires for people of the same sex, and they give compelling testimony that they were born that way. We can not attribute their desires to Romans 1 because they are not reprobates. So is it correct to say they "were born that way" or not?

I think everyone born has that desire as well us lust, robbery, murder...but the knowledge of God brings fear in our hearts and disciplines us.

Really? I don't have any desire to murder or rob. There are rare times I notice my flesh drawing me in that direction, but I don't give in to it so it is not a problem. I have been made free from sin!
Romans 6:20 For when ye were [past tense] the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now [present tense] being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
And of course there are countless other verses I could cite. That was just the first one off the top of my head.

Yeah but the reason you have been freed is because you have understanding in how to be victorious in those areas.
I don't remember which verse in Proverbs but it was said that the writer wanted neither to be rich nor poor but have sufficient income. If he were rich he would be the center of attention and he would despise others. If he were poor he would be thinking of stealing or using people. But I think we fall in that middle class.
But there are other things that we need to be victorious in. Look at David. A man of great honor committed adultery and his life turned upside down.
I notice something Richard, you missed out lust in your reply to gilgal; either you still do have lust or you have forgotten to list it in your reply to gilgal:

I admit that I sometimes do have desire to lust but no desire to murder or rob but that does not mean I am free from sin. No one is free from sin only God. Do we not lie at times? We have been made "free from sin" does not mean we are sinless; it means Jesus have paid for our sin and by accepting Him as Christians we are made more aware of what is sinful and what is not. It disciplined us to differentiate what is godly and what is ungodly and to do what is pleasing to God. Nobody is perfect and we always fall short of the glory of God. Perhaps I have mistaken what you mean by being "made free from sin" but if you mean you are sinless.... then Richard requires our prayers:pray::pray:
Many Blessings.

Good catch! There a many meanings to the word "lust" and I didn't want to get the conversation hung up on that point. Scripture declares the same answer for lust as any other sin:
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
This coheres precisely with what we learn in Romans:
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
And I could quote many other verses as you know.
I admit that I sometimes do have desire to lust but no desire to murder or rob but that does not mean I am free from sin. No one is free from sin only God.
Cheow: No one is free from sin only God.
Bible: Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Rom 6:18 )
Do we not lie at times? We have been made "free from sin" does not mean we are sinless; it means Jesus have paid for our sin and by accepting Him as Christians we are made more aware of what is sinful and what is not.
Please quote two or three verses that say Jesus PAID for our sins.

I never said I was "perfect." I still need your prayers to help me overcome my many failings and weaknesses. But I don't go through my day struggling against sin. Do you??? It rarely comes to mind in my life. My integrity is whole and I am right with God, so what sin am I supposed to be worried about?
People who are constantly plagued by sin need to really repent and move on to the freedom of righteousness, as it is written:
Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Well said Richard:thumb: and sorry for my mistaken view. What you said is reasonable, why should we fear if we are not constantly plagued by sin?... the Holy Spirit is always on our side, protecting and guiding us away from sin.
Richard, be assured, you will always have our prayers :pray::pray:
God Blessed.

I didn't post this thread with the intention of getting into one's personal life. But Ron Paul isn't what we thought he would be. Godly kings had put Sodomites away. But Ron Paul excusing them.
