I want to bring your attention to the four horsemen of Revelation 6 with horse colors white, red, black and pale or yellow. The same applies to the 4 races the white (mostly European), red (american indian), Black (African), Yellow (Asian).
Interesting point gilgal and thanks for the inspiration,
Human race is not usually categorized by the color of their skin but by their hair which is either, straight, wavy or kinky. The other classification is based on group which is Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid. Classification of Human race is usually based on 3 types not 4. Skin color is a result of skin cells call melanin; the more you have the darker is the color; it has a protective function and is not a good indicator for categorizing human races. People with albinism could be as white as white men, white people who suntanned could be as dark as the blacks. Red people is usually classified with the yellow group. But thanks for giving me an inspiration which may seem true:
Revelation 6:
1) white horse representing "white" men spreading the gospel throughout the world.. the Romans, Emperor Constantine, The Roman Catholic Church, Emperor Charlemagne, European missionaries, immigrants from Europe, the European and American colonial powers. (Europe)
2) The red horse representing Red Indians fighting with one another and against white settlers in the Americas? (America) To me an unlikely interpretation. Reds killing one another, what does that suggest?
3) The black horse representing Africans or Africa having a severe famine caused by black stem wheat rust, ? UG99 which started from Uganda or Kenya and has spread to many areas in Africa and the Middle East. (Africa)
4) The pale/pale green horse and not yellow horse representing diseases, famine, major wars from Asia (sounds plausible). (Asia)
The four horses may also represent the 4 major inhabited continents (with the exception of Australasia) i.e. Asia, Africa, Europe, America(North and South).
Many Blessings.

Fascinating! This correlation seems to connect the four colors to the four directions via ethnicity. White - Europe - North, Red - Americas - West, Black - Africa - South, Yellow - Asia - East.

I would like to add the directions of the horses of Zechariah which were also directed to North, East, South, West.
The four colored horses have been assigned to go throughout the earth. Since all prophecy is written from the perspective of Jerusalem, the horses where assigned in relation to Jerusalem.
1. White - the West
********** 2. Red - the East
********************** 3. Black - the North
********************************** 4. Pale - the South

And what were the four horses assigned to go throughout the earth?.. to spread the good News (North, East, West, South).
Many Blessings,

Not so gilgal, the 4 horses of Zechariah not only spread the Good News but also bring about doom. It was mentioned that the horse that went north bring back news of doom. This corresponds well with what Jesus said that the gospel will be preached to the world and then the end will come. It also corresponds well with the fifth seal which comes after all the 4 horsemen of Revelation 6 in which the gospel was spread to the world follwed by apersecution of faithful Christians who spread the gospels.
Hope this explains.
Many blessings.

Greek dictionaries give both green and yellow. In the case of Rev 6:8, they customarily favor "yellowish, pale."

Your right, the Greek word chlorus means green. That's where the word chlorophyll comes from....meaning green-leaf.
Rev.6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale (chloros) horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
