As I was reading Matthew chapter 2:2, I noticed a unique link to Psalm 2:2 that I had never noticed before. Psalm 2:2 speaks of the kings of the earth who set themselves up against God’s anointed, and the rulers who take counsel together against Him…..

Psalm 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed (mashiyach),...
.
.
….and in Matt.2:2 the Magi who have traveled from the east following the star, come to King Herod (a king of the earth) in Jerusalem and inquired of him where the King of the Jews whose star they have followed is. King Herod who considered himself to be king of the Jews was deeply troubled, so he gathered together all the chief priests and scribes (rulers of the Jews) to find Christ, and he set out to kill God’s anointed.
.
.
Matt. 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3) When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4) And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ (Christos) should be born.
