I felt this email I received was of interest:

On May 12, 2007 very heavy rains fell in the Judean desert. Four Jewish hikers were tragically swept away in flash flood that roared thru the dry wadis....seven others escaped... The weather service of Israel had clear warnings out. Widespread serious rains fell on May 9-11 and on May 16th Jerusalem day, the day on the Hebrew calendar marking 40 years since the modern liberation of Jerusalem back into Jewish hands, in the miraculous 6 day war of 1967.

Only Jerusalem was the focus of this isolated supercell....thunders, downpours, significant hail....1-2 inches of rain reported all over the city...roads flooded, the western wall plaza where we go to pray had water 5 inches deep. Normal climatoligical probability of heavy rain in Jerusalem in mid may is close to zero.....there has never been a heavy rain onJerusalem day since it was established in 1967.....temperatures fell from 78 F to 58 F in about an hour. Iin 2006 we had wettest April ever in modern history, now this year May is coming in with significant rain. As a bible loving Christian Zionist meterologist it doesnt get much more
interesting than this.
