Spoke 14 - Nun

2 Chronicles, Zephaniah, Hebrews

Zephaniah: Pollution of God's House

Thy prophets (navi) have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

AV Lamentations 2:14 (Nun)

They have wandered (nuwa) as blind men in the streets, they have polluted (n'go'alu) themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

AV Lamentations 4:14 (Nun)

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag (nuwa) his hand. Woe to her that is filthy and polluted (nigo'alah), to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. ... Her prophets (navi) are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

Zephaniah 2:15ff (Spoke 14, Cycle 2)

Nun KeyWordsThe Book of 2 Chronicles is characterized by its extreme emphasis on the activities of the priests and Levites which are missing from the parallel history recorded in the two Books of the Kings. This coheres with its alignment on Spoke 14 with the Book of Hebrews, the only "priestly" book of the New Testament, and its alignment with Zephaniah who was the prophet at the time of Josiah's reformation which was recorded with unique detail in 2 Chronicles. The quote above is from Zephaniah's condmenation of the apostate priests who were destroyed by Josiah which forms a KeyLink to 2 Chronicles selected by the set (priests, polluted) [Verify] in the KJV, as discussed here:

The amazing thing is that this passage from Zephanaiah that forms the KeyLink to 2 Chronicles is found in the immediate context of an Alphabetic KeyLink from the Nun verse of AV Lamentations 4:14:

  • AV Lam 4:14 They have wandered (nuwa) as blind men in the streets, they have polluted (n'go'alu) themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

The two KeyWords are listed in the table above. The second word is a Nun KeyWord only because it is the niphal form of the Gimel verb גאל (ga'al, to pollute). I may not have recognized it as Nun KeyWord if not for find it again in the immediate context of the appearance of the nuwa in Zephaniah 2:15-3:1:

every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag (nuwa) his hand. Woe to her that is filthy and polluted (nigo'alah), to the oppressing city!

Zephaniah 2:15-3:1 (Spoke 14, Cycle 2)

In both cases, we have the niphal conjugation of the ga'al (to pollute). These words appear together only in these two passages, and so we have another Spoke 14 Alphabetic KeyLink:

We also have a strong thematic link from the Nun verse of AV Lamentations 2:14 to based on the condemnation of the false prophets (Nun KeyWord navi):
