[Wheel] > Old Testament Citations in Romans

And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

John 14.29

The divine integration of Genesis, Isaiah, and Romans - the books that constitute Spoke 1 of the Wheel - can be seen in the distribution of Old Testament citations found in the Book of Romans. The absolute maximum is found in Isaiah, from which Romans quotes 18 times. The distribution breaks down as follows:

  Genesis Isaiah Others
Totals 8 18 31

This means that 26/57 or 45% of all citations in Romans come from either Genesis or Isaiah. This graph shows how these results relate to the Wheel:

The table below lists all the direct citations found in Romans. Of course, the counting will vary slightly depending on various choices, such as how to count partial citations, repeated citations and so forth. A good online resource that lists all the Old Testament citations in all the books of the New Testament may be found at R. Grant Jones This link takes you off the Bible Wheel site and opens a new window website. The table below, which I put together myself before finding similiar results online, is in substantial agreement with Jones' results.
